We celebrated Vale Connection's 25th anniversary with a lovely evening at Salford Hall. Chorus members, past and present, gathered to sing a few songs, enjoy a 3 course dinner and catch up with friends, old and new. It was a wonderful night to remember! There are lots more photos of the evening in the Gallery section.
We were delighted to be asked to provide the entertainment at the Offenham Flower Club's AGM. Despite some technical difficulties involving the pitchpipe, it was a very enjoyable occasion!
This Christmas we sang at the Christmas dos at Beckford W I and The Littletons' W I, both of which were very enjoyable and suitably seasonal. We also performed at the annual Badsey Christmas Celebration, where these photos were taken. Note the motion blur on the festive headgear: it was a lively event!
After the success of our concert in June at Pershore Abbey, we were asked to sing at a concert to raise much needed funds for the St Peter's Porch Appeal at Pebworth. We were delighted to accept the invitation and the concert was a great success, enjoyed by the audience and the Chorus alike, and raising over £500 for the appeal.
The Pershore Concert raised an impressive £1130 for St Richard's. At our rehearsal tonight we presented the cheque to Cllr Charlie Homer from St Richard's. He thanked us very much for our fundraising efforts and asked us to sing him a song before he left. We treated him to a rousing rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody which he loved!
Whilst we had a break in our dress rehearsal for the Pershore Abbey concert, Jen Hewson, a professional photographer based in Lower Moor, kindly came and took some super informal shots of the Chorus having fun. Our recent concert at Pershore Abbey, in support of St Richard's Hospice, was a huge success. The Chorus sang their hearts out, and the concert was expertly compered by Bernadette Kearney. Our special guest, Joanne Jefferis played her cello divinely, moving several Chorus and audience members to tears. We had a splendid selection of raffle prizes, generously donated by family, friends and local firms, which raised over £300. During the interval refreshments were served, including wine and soft drinks. We had a large, very appreciative audience, who even demanded an encore, which we were very happy to provide. It truly was a night to remember! For the second year running, we have supported the 'wear a hat to work' event in support of the Brain Tumour Charity. One of our members, Kate Hickman, has been fighting a brain tumour for over 18 months so this charity is close to our hearts. As you can see, it was a very enjoyable evening, as well as raising awareness and funds for a worthwhile cause.
