In 2016, Marcel Zidani who studied piano under the direction of Royal Academy Vice-Principal Mark Racz, was invited to support Vale Connection as our Patron.
Vale Connection has recently had the privilege of singing alongside Marcel at Bretfest 2016, an experience we all will never forget.
Marcel has performed extensively as a soloist in Europe, as well as giving concerts locally and in the Midlands. He has performed at music festivals all over the country, is a devoted piano teacher and now avid supporter of Vale Connection.
He has performed many of the major piano concertos including the Liszt Hungarian Fantasy at Cheltenham Everyman Theatre, the Litolff Scherzo and Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini with the Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra. Marcel recently performed Rhapsody in Blue with the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and is performing a series of champagne / piano recitals at other festivals.
Marcel receives glowing reviews in the international press, and ‘The Sunday Times’ described the performance of compositions as ‘an explosion of expressive tonal colours’. His performance of Beethoven Sonata ‘The Tempest’ and Liszt’s ‘Un Sospiro’ received equal critical acclaim. You can listen to Marcel’s recordings, read reviews and view performances on his website and on YouTube.
